Chemistry building evacuated after small amount of hazardous substance spilled

The Frick Chemistry Laboratory was evacuated for about two hours Tuesday evening after a small amount of a hazardous material was spilled on the floor of a third-floor laboratory.

No one was injured when the spill occurred about 7:20 p.m. Officers from the University's Department of Public Safety responded as did the Princeton Fire Department. A hazardous materials unit from Trenton was called.

The building was reopened about 9:20 p.m., and about 20 people resumed work in the building.

Classes are not in session at the University.
