Student work: 'Zoyka's Apartment'

"Zoyka's Apartment," a play by Mikhail Bulgakov, is being directed by professional guest director Alexandru Mihail and staged at Princeton at 8 p.m. Nov. 13-14 and 19-21 in the Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center. The production, the Program in Theater's fall show, is a poignant and subversive farce set in 1920s post-revolutionary Russia.

Princeton Summer Theater builds community for its artistic 'voyages' .

To tackle the challenge of producing four plays in eight weeks, the Princeton Summer Theater company annually forms a small community that includes Princeton students, alumni and faculty, as well as local residents and students from other universities. The 44th season will take audiences to Sweden, London, Paris and the Catskills of New York with "A Little Night Music," June 21-24, and June 28-July 1; "Gaslight," July 5-8 and 12-15; "Boeing-Boeing," July 19-22 and 26-29; and "The American Plan," Aug. 2-5 and 9-12.

Princeton Summer Theater celebrates the return to live performance .

The three-play mainstage season takes audiences back in time to the jazz-infused 1920s, onto the golf course for a farce and then to civil-rights-era Detroit.

Bringing history and imagination to the stage .

Two years ago, in a class called "Beginning Studies in Acting," Roger Q. Mason found himself intrigued by lecturer Tim Vasen's description of "the orange women" who gathered at performances of William Shakespeare's plays. The image stuck with Mason when he thought about writing a play for his senior thesis. His work, "Orange Woman, A Ballad for a Moor," runs at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, and Thursday through Saturday, April 10-12, in the Berlind Theatre.

'Sharing the Stage: Science and Art at Princeton' .

Creativity is a passion for Princeton seniors Gary Fox and Anna Wuttig — as scientists and as artists. When not in the lab, they are immersed in the arts. Fox and Wuttig have successfully found a way to share the stage in pursuing both art and science at Princeton. They are bringing their talents to the fore in "Der Bourgeois Bigwig," an adaptation of the 17th-century Molière comedy "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme," playing through Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Berlind Theatre, McCarter Theatre Center.

Students perform in Spring Dance Festival .

More than 50 students from a range of academic departments will perform in Princeton's annual Spring Dance Festival Friday through Sunday, Feb. 19-21, at the Berlind Theatre. Performances are slated for 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday. The event is sponsored by the Program in Dance in the Lewis Center for the Arts.
