Fall 2015 was full of tradition and new experiences at Princeton University. A look back through Princeton’s social media posts tells the story of an unforgettable semester.

Stretching from September to January, Princeton's fall semester presents plenty of opportunities for members of the University community to make lasting memories. Here, we look back through Princeton University's social media posts to see what made fall 2015 memorable.

Students and families came from around the world to start a new academic year in September 2015. Social media users shared updates from their travels and move-in using the hashtag #ToPrincetonU.

 

The Class of 2019 experienced several Princeton traditions for the first time before the start of classes, such as Opening Exercises in the University Chapel and the Freshman Step Sing at Blair Arch.

 

The semester was soon off to a busy start with the first day of classes and the Student Activities Fair.

 

Faculty, staff and students celebrated the new Department of African American Studies.

 

Professor Angus Deaton won the 2015 Nobel Prize in economics.

Lots of hard work…

 

…meant students were always ready for a good study break!

 

Health experts, journalists and academics met to discuss lessons learned from the recent Ebola crisis at the 2015 Princeton-Fung Global Forum in Dublin, Ireland.

 

Every walk across campus reminded us why we love Princeton in the fall. 🍂

 

A November ribbon-cutting ceremony signaled the opening of the E-Hub, which President Eisgruber called "a nexus of entrepreneurial activity."

 

The University became the subject of national discussion after a student protest…

 

…and we responded to international events by showing our support at a candlelight vigil.

Speaking of hashtags, Princeton Social Media Day brought students, faculty, staff, alumni, journalists and experts together for a fun-filled day of all things social media!

 

In December there were holiday dinners and well-wishes before winter break.

 

After break came Reading Period, Dean's Date, finals and plenty of excitement with the completion of each!
