In a letter to the editor of The Daily Princetonian student newspaper, President Christopher L. Eisgruber on Tuesday, Feb. 9, issued a statement on the weekend arrest of Imani Perry, a professor of African American studies. The statement is posted on the president's website.

Trustees approve African American studies concentration, department .

Princeton undergraduate students will be able to major in African American studies starting in the fall. The University's Board of Trustees approved the new concentration Monday and gave the Center for African American Studies academic department status. The trustees also approved certificate programs in cognitive science, diplomacy and ethnographic studies. The changes, which the faculty had approved in May, will take effect July 1.

President Eisgruber extends international outreach to India .

President Christopher L. Eisgruber traveled to India this week, meeting with Princeton alumni, Indian policy makers and leaders in business and higher education.

Princeton launches website for strategic planning initiative .

Princeton University has created a website that will serve as a source of information about the University's strategic planning process that President Christopher L. Eisgruber announced earlier this year. The website, www.princeton.edu/strategicplan, explains the strategic planning effort, identifies the task forces studying a wide range of issues and will serve as a central location for the campus community to access task force reports and other documents.
