FACULTY AWARD: Torquato receives National American Chemical Society award

Salvatore Torquato, a Princeton University professor of chemistry and the Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of Materials (PRISM), has received the Joel Henry Hildebrand Award in Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry of Liquids from the American Chemical Society. The award recognizes distinguished contributions to understanding the chemistry and physics of liquids. Torquato and other recipients of 2017 ACS national awards will be honored at an awards ceremony Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the 253rd ACS National Meeting in San Francisco.

FACULTY AWARD: Car, Muir receive ACS national awards .

Princeton University faculty members Roberto Car, the Ralph W. *31 Dornte Professor in Chemistry, and Tom Muir, the Van Zandt Williams Jr. Class of 1965 Professor of Chemistry and department chair, have received national awards from the American Chemical Society (ACS). Car received the ACS Award in Theoretical Chemistry and Muir was honored with the Ronald Breslow Award for Achievement in Biomimetic Chemistry. National award recipients will be honored March 15, 2016, at the 251st ACS National Meeting in San Diego.

Torquato honored as outstanding contributor to materials physics .

Salvatore Torquato, a professor of chemistry at Princeton, has been selected to receive the 2009 David Adler Lectureship Award by the American Physical Society (APS).

Carter, MacMillan receive American Chemical Society awards .

David MacMillan and Emily Carter have received two of the American Chemical Society's 56 national awards for 2018.

Weinan E to receive Kleinman Prize for mathematics .

Weinan E, a professor of mathematics and applied and computational mathematics at Princeton, has been selected by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) to receive the Ralph E. Kleinman Prize for his work connecting mathematics with applications outside the field.

Carter, Russel to receive ACS awards .

Princeton faculty members Emily Carter and William Russel will be honored by the American Chemical Society this spring.
