People are what make Mathey College the special four-year college that it is. The College Mastersets the intellectual tone for the college, serving as host for a number of events and traditions, from intimate freshman dinners to elegant commencement receptions. Faculty, Staff and Community Fellows take part in a range of college programs, including giving lunch talks, leading book group discussions or theater trips, and hosting language tables.
In the academic sphere, the Dean and Director of Studies provide advising and support for all undergraduates through all four years, including non-departmental advising for both resident and nonresident juniors and seniors. Together with Faculty Academic Advisers and Peer Advisors, they assist with course selection, choosing a major, balancing workload, and identifying academic resources.
The Director of Student Life coordinates the work of the Residential College Advisors, looking out for the personal and social well-being of all students, while also overseeing the College Council, our central vehicle for student leadership. At Mathey, students of all four years take important initiative. The College Administrator works with the Social Committee and oversees our budget and facilities. The Mathey Office Specialist supports all these efforts, and is the smiling face that greets students who enter the college office.
In addition, ten Resident Graduate Students reside in Mathey. They organize fun programs and trips, help organize study groups, and interact with undergraduates over meals and at college functions.
