Matt Frawley, Director of Student Life
Welcome to Mathey, the best residential college at Princeton University. Even the other residential colleges would agree...really they would. I've worked here at Princeton University for thirteen years, six as a lecturer in the religion department precepting classes in ethics, philosophy of religion, and early Christianity, and the last seven as the director of student life here at Mathey.
I studied economics as an undergrad at Stanford University and ran around in a speedo as a member of the diving team. I spent two long arduous years working for an options trading company in NYC before heading off to Princeton Seminary. I emerged ten years later with a couple of masters degrees and a PhD in philosophy and theology. My dissertation was on Soren Kierkegaard's anthropology. Yes, I know, exciting stuff. You probably want to read more about my dissertation, but I don't have a fancy website like our esteemed director of studies. She's the real deal.
My wife Kim has actually put up with me for about 24yrs now. I have three kids: Colin, Tim, and Kathryn who love to eat dinner here at the Mathey Dining Hall, but Colin, the oldest, will be eating in another dining hall on another campus as he begins his first year of college. You're probably shocked that someone who looks as young as I do actually has a kid in college. Those green smoothies are paying off!
As the director of student life, I supervise the RCA's and manage the crisis and discipline issues. I also supervise the college council as well as serve as the agent for such Princeton characters as the Mathey College Crier, Barry Bingo, Lawrence P. Futterbutt, and the Eager Beaver.
