- Dress comfortably, but appropriately.
- Be yourself.
- Establish a rapport with your audience (humor, anecdotes, demonstrations).
- Be conscious of your posture, your voice, your gestures, and your “body language” overall.
- Move around at least a little, but not too much (avoid swaying from side to side or rocking back and forth, and try not to pace).
- Face your audience and make eye contact.
- Pause or take a drink of water if you need to compose yourself.
- Be prepared for questions, both by allowing time for them and by anticipating what audience members will likely ask.
