McGraw Data Collection Policy

McGraw Center swipe-in data is used in much the same way as other data (e.g., surveys) collected by the University. The swipe-in device captures name and ID# only. We track attendance primarily to quantify usage of our services, and in turn, to evaluate those services. We also use swipe in data and student emails associated with those data to asses our programming via surveys. When other uses of the swipe-in data (name and ID#) are made including for sending surveys, individual student identities are not included. Thus, individual users' identities are confidential, though not entirely anonymous. Individuals may opt out of swiping in and still use McGraw services, but they must tell McGraw staff they are doing so so that we can get accurate counts.
