Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections (RBSC) and the Mudd Manuscript Library?

The Mudd Manuscript Library is part of the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections (RBSC). The Mudd Library is in a separate building, while the rest of RBSC is located in the University's main library, Firestone. Therefore, if you are interested in a Mudd collection (University Archives or Public Policy) you contact the Mudd Library. If you are interested in any other RBSC collection you should contact RBSC directly at rbsc@princeton.edu.

RBSC is comprised of several separate units that reflect the great diversity in its holdings.
