PRINCETON UNIVERSITY GLEE CLUB
The Princeton University Glee Club presents the annual Walter L. Nollner Memorial Concert on Sunday afternoon, March 3 at 3 pm at Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. Led by esteemed Choir Director Gabriel Crouch, the ensemble performs Handel's Israel in Egypt with The Nassau Symphonia and an acclaimed roster of soloists including countertenor Ryland Angel, tenor Dann Coakwell, and bass-baritones Dashon Burton and Jonathan Woody, as well as sopranos Maya Kherani and Lily Arbisser, both Princeton graduates and now professional singers. Composed by Handel in 1738, the choruses take center stage in this vivid oratorio which tells the story of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. Maestro Crouch describes this spectacular work as "basically an opera for chorus on a biblical text." This concert is also part of the American Handel Society Festival and Conference being held this year at Princeton.
