Come and be inspired by fabulous guest presenters
--Scott Burnham, Scheide Professor of Music History at Princeton University, will explore how Franz Liszt responded to specific works of poetry and visual art in his beguiling Annees de Pelerinage.
--Steve Mackey, 2010 Grammy-nominated Princeton University composer, will discuss the compositional process for his new Piano Concerto before its upcoming premier by pianist Orli Shaham.
--Lisa Yui, pianist and lecturer at Manhattan School of Music, will show how many aspects of the compositions of Dussek and von Weber foreshadow the music of better-known composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann.
--Logan Skelton, pianist, composer of international critical acclaim, and Professor of Piano and Director of Doctoral Studies in Piano Performance at the University of Michigan, will present performances of piano music of Bartok in combination with recorded excerpts of folk music, illustrating Bartok's synthesis of folk and fine art.
