Princeton Glee Club performs Spem in Alium by Thomas Tallis
A choir of more than one hundred current and former members of the Glee Club will perform Thomas Tallis' masterpiece Spem in Alium, a motet in 40 parts for eight separate choirs of singers, in the marvellous octagonal setting of Princeton's Chancellor Green Library. Composed around 1570 in response to the elaborate polychoral music emerging from continental Europe, Spem in Alium has become an iconic work - one of the most challenging and rewarding works in the history of choral music. Don't miss the opportunity to hear this rarely performed work!
