FOOTBALL CONCERT: PRINCETON AND HARVARD GLEE CLUBS
Princeton's Glee Club and Chamber Choir host Harvard's Glee Club for a night of wonderful choral music tomorrow in Richardson Auditorium. For their part in the choral face-off, Harvard will be singing a 13th-Century Georgian wedding song, Benjamin Britten's fabulous 'Ballad of Little Musgrave and Lady Barnard' and much besides; the Princeton Glee Club will respond by unleashing the plagues from Handel's Israel in Egypt, along with a rather maniacal 5/4 tribute to Finnish folksong. The PU Chamber Choir will add its own contribution by singing three exquisite settings of texts by John Donne. And it will all end in a hail of catcalls and paper airplanes as the two choirs sing their respective fight songs. Saturday's football game will be utterly tame by comparison.
Come and see this 99-year tradition in action!
