PIANO RECITAL, GEOFFREY BURLESON
Princeton Piano Faculty member Geoffrey Burleson has been recording the complete piano works of Camille Saint-Saëns for the new Naxos Grand Piano label. Releases thus far have garnered high international acclaim from "Gramophone", "International Piano Magazine" ('International Piano Choice'), "International Record Review", and elsewhere. Volume 3, "Character Pieces", has just been released. This recital will feature several vivid, dynamic works from the new CD.
The program includes Beethoven “Waldstein” Sonata; a new incendiary electroacoustic work by Preston Stahly (“Burn Rate”); and études by David Rakowski, including one (“You Blew It”) which requires the performer to play piano and melodica simultaneously!
