COMPOSERS ENSEMBLE AT PRINCETON
Composers Ensemble at Princeton, directed by Barbara White and Michael Pratt, welcomes the ensemble Newspeak back to campus on Tuesday, May 8 at 8:00PM in Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall. Newspeak is an eight-piece amplified ensemble working under the direction of Composer David T. Little and Clarinetist Eileen Mack. They will perform works by graduate students Lainie Fefferman, Quinn Collins, and Professor Dmitri Tymoczko.
STUDENT CHAMBER MUSIC RECITALS
Students enrolled in MUS 213 Projects in Instrumental Performance will give two recitals on Thursday, May 10 at 4:00PM and 8:00PM In Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall. Participants have been coached by the Brentano String Quartet. Works by Brahms, Fauré, Mendelssohn, Ravel, Debussy and Dvorak will be performed.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY WIND ENSEMBLE
Princeton University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Robert Gravener, will perform on Thursday, May 10 at 8:00PM in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. Titled "Movie Music Madness", the concert will feature themes from several popular movie soundtracks. Admission is $10 general, $6 students, $5 children 12 and under. STUDENT RECITAL
Composer Jacinth Greywoode ‘12 will present his Mass in E Major for Choir and Chamber Orchestra on Friday, May 11 at 6:30PM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 33 Mercer Street, Princeton, New Jersey.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY SINFONIA
The Princeton University Sinfonia, conducted by Ruth Ochs, will perform Turina’s Danzas Fantásticas and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 “Scottish” on Friday, May 11 at 8:00PM in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. Admission $5 general. Call University Ticketing at (609) 258-9220.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY CONCERT JAZZ ENSEMBLE
Dr. Anthony D.J. Branker will lead the Princeton University Concert Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, May 12 at 8:00PM in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. The concert is titled "Sounds of Revolution or Evolution? The Music of Bebop, Cool Jazz, and Hard Bop". PERFORMANCE FACULTY RECITAL
Jack Hill, Double Bass, will give a recital on Tuesday, May 15 at 8:00PM In Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall. Collaborating with Pianist John Kamitsuka and Double Bassist Mark Zuckerman, Mr. Hill will perform Schubert’s “Arpeggione” Sonata, Bottesini’s Gran Duo No. 1, and the premiere of Mark Zuckerman’s Touching Bass.
STUDENT RECITALS
Julianna Traicoff '12, Violin, will perform on on Thursday, May 17 at 8:00PM in Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall. Works on the program are by Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel and Rachmaninoff.
Nathan Pell '12, Cello, will perform on Friday, May 18 at 8:00PM in Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall. The recital will feature works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Piazzolla and Chopin.
Francesa McNeeley '12, Cello will perform works by Beethoven, Bach, Schumann and Ginastera on Sunday, May 20 at 3:00PM in Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall.
