A native of Israel, I was born in the small town of Zichron- Yaaqov. I started my teaching career as a teacher for the deaf. Later I studied Israeli Literature & Jewish studies. I completed all course work towards my Phd. In addition, I took courses in Theater and cinema. I began teaching the Hebrew Language at American University in Washington, D.C. and consequently moved to Georgetown University, where I taught for a long time. I also taught at the Middle East Institute. During the summers, I teach at Brandeis University. Since 1989, I've been immersed in developing courses and materials on Contemporary Israeli Culture. My belief is that language can not be detached from the culture. The language program is embedded in culture, and cultural activities outside the class setting are highly recommended.
