Mostafa Vaziri teaches courses on the topics of Sufism, Buddhism, and Islam at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has authored several academic books, including his latest, Buddhism in Iran: An Anthropological Approach to Traces and Influences, and his Iran as Imagined Nation: The Construction of National Identity. Vaziri is also a physician who received his M.D. from the University of Innsbruck, and as a philanthropist lived and worked as a volunteer doctor in Nepal and Afghanistan and served as a chief physician with Partners In Health (PIH) in Africa.
