James M. Shapiro ’80 Fund for Undergraduate Research in Neuroscience
The Princeton Neuroscience Institute is pleased to announce the James M. Shapiro ’80 Fund for Undergraduate Research in Neuroscience award. The purpose of this award is to help broaden and support the research of promising rising juniors and seniors in the field of neuroscience. The winner(s) of the award will receive funds to use for purchasing research materials and supplies, and for research related or conference travel.
Nancy J. Newman, MD ’78 & Valerie Biousse, MD Senior Thesis Research Fund for Neuroscience
The purpose of this award is to provide funding in support of the senior thesi s in the field of neuroscience. The winner(s) of the award will receive funds to use for expenses related to completing the senior thesis.
Sanda & Jeremiah Lambert ’55 Fund for Undergraduate Neuroscience, in Honor of Clare Lambert ’08 and Hilary Lambert ‘10
The purpose of this award is to support the research of promising rising juniors and seniors in the field of neuroscience. The winner(s) of the award will receive funds to use for travel, research costs, materials and supplies, equipment, or other expenses in connection with undergraduate research in neuroscience.
Students in the Neuroscience Certificate Program are eligible to apply for all awards. Only one application form is required to be considered for all available funding. Candidates are asked to submit the application form and a research proposal including the following information: (i) dates of the project, (ii) description of research/project summary (2-5 pages), (iii) a budget showing how the student plans to use the funds (awards will range from $500 - $2,000), (iv) who the student intends to work with/lab in which they plan to work, (v) names of two faculty references, one of whom is the student’s adviser.
Applications should be sent to dtindall@princeton.edu by Thursday, March 28. Winners of the awards will be expected to write a brief summary of the research performed, how they used the funds, and what they gained from the experience, within one month of completing the research.
