Assistant Professor Awarded National Science Foundation's CAREER Award
Mala Murthy, Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, is a recent recipient of the National Science Foundation’s prestigious CAREER Award for her proposal entitled “Neural Mechanisms for Acoustic Communication in Drosophila.” These five-year grants are intended to support the early careers of the nation’s most promising junior faculty, who are committed to integrating research with education. Mala’s research is aimed at addressing how the fly brain processes acoustic information (species-specific courtship songs) to direct behavioral outputs.
