Profile
The major focus of research in my laboratory is on characterizing the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying person perception. I am interested in how people evaluate faces on social dimensions and how these evaluations are updated in light of new information. To address these questions, we use multiple methodologies – behavioral, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Event-Related Potential (ERP) experiments, and computer modeling – and work with multiple populations – young and old adults, people who are unable to recognize faces (prosopagnosics), patients with amnesia, and patients with amygdala damage.
