Application information
Each residential college adviser candidate must submit an application and two written recommendations to the office of Dean Cole Crittenden in order to be considered. (Re-applicants need not submit recommendations.) Of these two recommendations, one may be from a peer. We suggest that you request letters of recommendation from people who know you well and who can address your ability to fulfill the role and responsibilities of an RCA.
Each applicant is also expected to participate in an interview at a residential college. Applications and recommendations are due on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at 4:30pm.
Every RCA candidate is placed in the applicant pool of one of the residential colleges. In assigning applicants to the respective college pools, Dean Crittenden considers the needs of each college as well as the applicant's stated preferences of colleges. In mid-December, each college will review its pool and then contact the applicants it wishes to interview to arrange an interview to be held during Reading Period in January. Therefore, each applicant who is granted an interview should make sure to return to campus in time for his or her scheduled interview. Applicants should not depart for Winter Recess without knowing the date and time of their interviews.
Final RCA selections are made by the directors of student life, masters, and other staff members of the residential colleges. Adviser candidates will be notified of the selection committee's decision by the college staff during the week of January intersession.
Online Residential College Adviser applications are available starting Monday, Nov. 21st and are due on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
