Register Now!! - Technical Theater Safety Training 9/25/10
Once again this year, the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students, in conjunction with the Production Office, the Office of Environmental Health & Safety, and the Lewis Center for the Arts will present technical theater workshops for production crew members and management staff. Working with input from various students in the technical theater community, we have designed workshops that will promote basic shop and technical safety skills for all students working on productions. Topics include a safety overview of personal protective equipment, use of power tools, lighting and basic rigging, ladders, scaffolding, and paints and chemicals. Ultimately, this training will be mandatory for all students who wish to work on any technical phases of a production, regardless of previous experience.
The next training will be held on Satruday, September 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Matthews Acting Studio at 185 Nassau Street. Each student need only attend one workshop to be considered fully trained for the remainder of his or her time at Princeton.
