THE CASE FOR THE HUMANITIES: A PANEL DISCUSSION
Students and scholars are increasingly called upon to justify the time, energy, and funds we devote to research and teaching in the humanities. This challenge is especially relevant to students who plan to apply for fellowships, since questions about the “point” of our work are frequently raised in interviews. The session is open to all, but undergraduates who are considering applying for major fellowships are especially encouraged to attend. Panelists: Anne Cheng (English, African American Studies); Jeff Dolven (English); Anthony Grafton (History); Brooke Holmes (Classics; Gideon Rosen (Philosophy)
