Description: Every year, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awards approximately 2,000 three-year Graduate Research Fellowships to individuals who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for advanced training in science or engineering. NSF Graduate Research Fellowships are awarded for graduate study leading to a research-based master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field. NSF Graduate Research Fellowships are tenable at any appropriate, accredited U.S. institution or foreign institution of higher education.
- U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
- College seniors/ graduate students who have not completed more than 20 semester hours or 30 quarter hours of graduate study;
Criteria for Selection: Selection is based on all available evidence of ability, including academic records, four letters of recommendation, and GRE scores
There is no Princeton application process for the NSF grant application. Applicants are required to submit application materials electronically using the NSF online application.
