Funding for International Experiences
Study Abroad, Internships, Research
Princeton’s policy of allowing financial aid to be applied to expenses for programs offered through the Study Abroad Program during the academic year makes it possible for many students to realize their plans to live and learn overseas for a semester or a year as a part of their Princeton education.
For summer courses taken for credit, the Office of Financial Aid offers aid recipients student loans to help meet the costs of summer courses. In addition, the Office of Financial Aid offers summer savings replacement aid to students participating in an unpaid summer service programs (including international internships) Detailed information is available on the website for Undergraduate Financial Aid.
In addition to the aid offered by the Office of Financial Aid, there are other places both outside and within the University to look for financial support for study, internships, and research abroad, during the academic year and during the summer. See Princeton Funding Sources, which includes funding offered through the Office of International Programs, and External Funding Sources. We recommend checking websites for application information and planning early in the academic year so you do not miss deadlines.
