Funding from Princeton University Sources

Listed below are sources of funding for international internships available to Princeton students. Funding may also be available from individual departments, especially if the internship relates to research or to a particular academic project. Students on financial aid should also review information about summer savings replacement.

Funding requests should be submitted directly to the sources listed below (note: deadlines differ; investigate early!).

  • Canadian Studies Program
    The Canadian Studies Program offers a limited number of grants to Princeton undergraduates to fund non-paying summer internships in Canada with government or non-profit organizations. 
  • Class of ’69 Community Service Fund
    The CSF creates and supports internships with community service and public service organizations. Students have been placed with the International Rescue Committee in Sarajevo, Georgia, and Tanzania, and with the United Nations in Vienna.
  • Class of ’78 Foundation
    The Foundation provides financial awards for summer projects involving activities that improve a local population’s well-being in terms of mental of physical health, the quality of life, or activities that encourage economic redevelopment.   • Class of 1995 Summer Service Fund
    The Fund provides financial support for undergraduates pursuing public or community service anywhere in the world. Students must submit a project proposal and budget, a one-page statement, a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a letter of support from the organization providing the posting.   • Edwin F. Ferris Class of 1899 Grants for Summer Internships in the Media
    The Princeton Council of the Humanities offers grants of $3,000 for summer internships in writing, publishing, and journalism, both print and electronic media.
