History
For more than 50 years, the Princeton German Department’s Summer Work Program has offered Princeton students a unique opportunity to improve their language skills while learning about Germany or Austria. SWP interns live in a typical environment and learn, through everyday contact, about people’s attitudes, values, and aspirations. They become part of the country’s work force and are integrated into its social structure.
Beginning in 2012-13, the International Internship Program will coordinate all aspects of the German Summer Work Program. The IIP works closely with the Department of German, the Princeton Alumni Association of Germany, and with a number of other organizations that have adopted the Princeton Summer Work Program as an outstanding model for strengthening German-American friendship and cultural exchange.
The German Summer Work Program will offer two types of internships for the summer of 2013:
- The German Summer Work Program – Cultural Experience
- The German Summer Work Program – Professional Experience
