About: The Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust is an organization that provides financial and technical support to cultural practitioners, institutions, and activities with the ultimate aim of contributing to the development of the cultural sector in Zimbabwe. The Fund works with artists, institutions, associations, promoters, administrators, and other experts on projects that include performances, festivals, exhibitions, workshops, research, and other programming. The Fund was set up to assist Zimbabweans with access to finance, skills, and markets. In an effort to make these available to cultural practitioners, the Fund not only makes funds available, but also works to create platforms that help identify, develop and showcase talent. It is the Fund's vision to create a diversified and sustainable sector that not only preserves Zimbabwean values and heritage, but also contributes to wealth creation through arts and culture. One placement has been established for IIP interns.
Intern responsibilities: The IIP intern will work within the programs department to assist with incoming grant applications as well as work to establish a database for the department. Specific responsibilities for the IIP intern may include: Marketing, media and publicity: contributing to institutional marketing plans, writing articles and other promotional and publicity materials; Resource Mobilization: assisting with identifying and engaging international funders, contributing to project concept development; Grant Application Processing: preparation of grant offer letters and contracts, compilation of weekly project recommendations and updating grantee spreadsheets; monitoring and evaluation of funded projects, producing monitoring reports for projects monitored and attending to grantee queries; Research and Development: contribute to research programs; and Workshops and Exhibitions: assisting with workshop coordination, representing the Culture Fund at stands during exhibitions, assisting Programs and Projects officer(s) in implementation of program activities and any other duties.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in social sciences, media and communications, research, monitoring and evaluation, and arts and culture management are encouraged to apply. Skills in marketing, fundraising, communications, and new media would be an asset.
