IIP Placements in Mongolia
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA)
Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
The government of Mongolia received a grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), which will be dispersed over the life of a five year Compact. The Compact aims to stimulate economic development and poverty reduction in Mongolia through investments in five key areas: road, property rights, vocational education, energy and environment, and health. For three of the programs under the Compact; Peri-Urban Rangeland Project (PURP), Technical, Vocational, and Education Training Project (TVET), and the Urban Property Rights Project (PRP), MCC contracted Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) to design and conduct their impact evaluations. The IIP intern will be responsible for aiding in these evaluations for one or more of the projects. Interns will get experience using Stata and analyzing real world data. In addition, they will take part in preparing reports describing the different evaluations and their findings. These reports and their findings will be made public in both the United States and Mongolia. IIP candidates with interests in economic development and statistics and experience with Stata are encouraged to apply. Skills in ArcGIS would be an asset. Two placements have been created for International Internship Program (IIP) interns.
