Program in Latin American Studies (PLAS)
The IIP sustains a vital working partnership with the Program in Latin American Studies, which is dedicated to fostering knowledge of and experience in Latin America and the Caribbean via interdisciplinary teaching and research on campus and in the field. IIP's partnership with PLAS helps to provide funding and support for numerous internships in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS)
The IIP and the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) have worked together to support current and future internships in all world regions of global importance. PIIRS aims to integrate international and regional studies at the University into informed and coherent perspectives on global affairs. Through our partnership with PIIRS, IIP is able to offer students support in a variety of diverse internship placements in each world region through funding provided by PIIRS.

Department of French and Italian
Since 2007, IIP has partnered with the Department of French and Italian to present the Princeton in France (PIF), a long-established and successful internship program that offers students the opportunity to spend from four to eight weeks of the summer working in France in a variety of positions: as a bank employee, tour guide, office assistant, hospital aide, camp counselor, trainee in a multinational corporation, or intern in a government office. Salaries cover normal living expenses, and scholarship funds are available to help with transportation costs, if needed. This year IIP will administer the PIF program and the Department of French and Italian will offer funding support and language proficiency testing for applicants.

Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI)
The Princeton Environmental Institute is an interdisciplinary center for environmental research, education and outreach, committed to advancing knowledge, creating awareness, and developing the next generation of leadership in the environmental field. PEI encourages students to pursue internships that combine experiential learning, research and civic engagement to enhance the student's overall understanding of environmental problems. Students have benefited from a wide range of domestic and international assignments, including internships with governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, private industry, campus and community projects. PEI provides funding for the following IIP Placements:

Woodrow Wilson School Undergraduate Program
The Woodrow Wilson School (WWS) Undergraduate Program stresses the study of major problems of contemporary public policy through a multidisciplinary program rooted in the social sciences. The program is unique both in its emphasis on the description of social and political reality and in its adherence to its foundational principle that rigorous analysis can be marshaled to enhance the well-being of individuals and societies. Through this partnership, IIP is able to offer WWS students diverse internship placements in each world region through funding provided by WWS.

Program in Global Health & Health Policy
In 2008, IIP initiated a sustainable partnership with the Program in Global Health & Health Policy (GHP). The Program in Global Health and Health Policy is an interdepartmental program in which undergraduates can study the determinants, consequences, and patterns of disease across societies; the role of medical technologies and interventions in health improvements; and the economic, political, and social factors that shape domestic and global public health. The GHP program is administered by the Center for Health and Well Being, an interdisciplinary unit in the Woodrow Wilson School.

As part of this partnership, the Program in Global Health & Health Policy will support GHP certificate students in the following researched-focused international health internships. Applicants enrolled in the GHP program have reserved positions in these internships and must apply by December 19. (Non-GHP applicants also have reserved spots and should apply by the December 19 deadline.)

The Program in Global Health and Health Policy lists additional GHP internships on its website.

Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education
In 2008, IIP established a partnership with the Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education to enhance the opportunities of internships available for students with interests in engineering. The Keller Center prepares all students--both engineers and non-engineers--to be leaders in an increasingly complex, technology-driven society. As a core component of its mission, the Center strives to improve students' technical education by exposing them to real engineering projects throughout their four years, through internships, entrepreneurial opportunities, and multidisciplinary courses. The Keller Center will provide funding support for two IIP Placements during summer 2009.

Princeton in Asia
Princeton in Asia (PiA) provides transformative, service-oriented experiences for talented graduates and serves the needs of Asia as determined by its Asian partners. The first PiA "fellowships" consisted of a handful of Princeton University graduates who went to China in the late 1890s to do relief work and teach English; the program has since expanded considerably in size and scope throughout Asia with placements in 17 countries, including Cambodia, China, Timor-Leste, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. PiA also offers summer teaching and workplace internship opportunities to Princeton undergraduates in China, India, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Center for French Studies
The Center for French Studies exists within the Princeton University Program in Contemporary European Politics and Society. The center, which was created by the French government in 1993, supports a wide array of programs that encourage the diffusion of French culture on the Princeton University campus and in the nearby Francophone communities of New Jersey.

Program in Hellenic Studies
Established in 1979, the Program in Hellenic Studies aims to strengthen scholarship, teaching, and research in all aspects of Byzantine and Modern Greek civilization, while exploring their relations to the classical tradition and the Late Antique world. The Program in Hellenic Studies supports internships in Greece or other Mediterranean countries relevant to the study of Hellenic culture

Department of Near Eastern Studies
The Department of Near Eastern Studies provides students in any department of Princeton University the opportunity to study the languages, modern history, contemporary institutions, and problems of the Near East. Its purpose is to enhance a liberal education and to offer additional training for students who plan a career in that area. For this program, the Near East is defined as the entire Arab world plus the present-day states of Iran, Israel, and Turkey.

Department of Economics
In 2009, IIP established a partnership with the Department of Economics to enhance the internship opportunities available for students with interests in economics. The Princeton Department of Economics has a worldwide reputation for outstanding teaching and research. Economics at Princeton is regarded and taught as part of a liberal education, not as a preparation for a specific vocation. However, it does provide an especially relevant background for careers in business and government and graduate study in economics, public policy, business administration, and law. The curriculum of the Department is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to understand the operation of a modern economy, to think and write clearly about economic problems and policy issues, and to analyze economic data. The Department of Economics will provide funding support for two IIP Placements during summer 2009.

East Asian Studies Program
The East Asian Studies Program is an umbrella organization for East Asian Studies and related departments. Its members are drawn from the cooperating departments of anthropology, art and archaeology, comparative literature, East Asian studies, economics, history, politics, religion, sociology, and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. The East Asian Studies Program also functions to financially support and organize various East Asia-related lectures, conferences, and events.

Princeton in Africa
To expand placements in the African region, IIP has developed a partnership with Princeton in Africa. Princeton in Africa seeks to develop young leaders committed to Africa’s advancement through offering opportunities for service through fellowships with a variety of organizations that work across the African continent. During summer 2009, in partnership with Princeton in Africa, IIP will make available five to six new internship placements in Africa.

Princeton in Latin America
P
rinceton in Latin America (PiLA) is a non-profit organization that provides year-long service work fellowships and summer internships in Latin America to current Princeton undergraduates and recent alumni. PiLA opens the doors to career paths, personal enrichment, and understanding service as an effective way to address social needs. PiLA enables students to extend the benefits of a Princeton education beyond the classroom and to join a group of motivated citizens with a commitment to public service and to Latin America. In partnership with PiLA, IIP will offer the following summer internships in Latin America:

Princeton Alumni Association of Beijing (PAABJ)
The Princeton Alumni Association of Beijing aims to connect and enhance working relations among Princeton alumni throughout Beijing and its metro area and promote a high level of awareness of and involvement in activities related to Princeton University and its alumni, students, faculty, and administration. Since 2007, PAABJ has supported IIP’s Princeton Summer in China Internship Program through the provision of services and funding. The Princeton in Summer in China Internship Program places Princeton students as interns in companies and organizations in China.

Princeton Club of Brazil
The Princeton Club of Brazil strives to build and maintain relationships among Princeton alumni in Brazil. The Club connects fellow Princetonians with opportunities to engage and network to further their Princeton experience. In 2008, IIP initiated a partnership with the Princeton Club in Brazil to create internships in companies and organizations that are relevant to today's issues in Brazil.
