Financing Study Abroad
For most students, the budget for studying abroad during the academic year is usually no higher than it would be for a comparable semester at Princeton. The study abroad budget includes not only tuition fees, room, and board, but also airfare, local transportation, books, and reasonable personal expenses.
Students who receive financial aid at Princeton continue to receive Princeton financial aid while abroad on an approved program during the academic year, making it possible for cost not to be a decisive factor for students who plan to live and learn overseas for a semester or a year as a part of their Princeton education. Additionally, some grants may be available for study abroad from sources outside the University.
In addition to the support offered by the Office of Financial Aid, students can seek financial support for study, research, and internships abroad from funding sources within Princeton.
