Financial Aid for Study Abroad

Financial Aid

Students on financial aid who are planning to study abroad during the academic year should read Financial Aid Information for Study Abroad (.pdf) and submit a Budget for Study Abroad (.pdf) to the Undergraduate Financial Aid Office. The Office of Financial Aid will review your budget and adjust your award as appropriate. If your combined expenses for a semester or year away are more than your budget at Princeton, grant funds will be assigned to meet the additional cost. The amount of earnings that would normally be expected for the semester (or year) will be replaced with a loan. If your total costs are less than Princeton’s, the self-help portion of your award will be reduced, then the grant.

For summer courses, the Office of Financial Aid offers aid recipients student loans to help meet costs. Princeton also offers summer savings replacement aid. Detailed information is available on the website for Undergraduate Financial Aid. See the Summer School Information Sheet (.pdf)  and the Summer Savings Replacement request form (.pdf).
