Information for Students Preparing to Study Abroad
Congratulations on your decision to study abroad! We are sure that your experiences overseas will challenge and stimulate you and that you will look back on your time abroad as one of the highlights of your undergraduate career.
Note: Any students participating in the Study Abroad Program or traveling abroad with funding from a Princeton entity (for study, an internship, research, or co-curricular activity) must register on the University Travel Database. Registration on the Travel Database includes completion of the Terms and Conditions Form and Travel Medical Profile and Consent for Care Form. See the Travel Registration: Step by Step (.pdf) brochure for instructions.
We recommend that you review the information compiled in the sections Before You Go and While You Are Away as well as the information in Travel Resources. You should also familiarize yourself with Princeton's administrative and academic policies as they relate to study abroad
Be sure to take the International Travel Handbook (.pdf), which you will be given at the mandatory pre-departure meeting, along with you as a reference.
