Eligibility for Study Abroad
Students in both the A.B. and the B.S.E. programs may participate in the Study Abroad Program in the spring of the sophomore year, during one or both semesters of the junior year, or in the fall of the senior year. Students must have at least a B average for the fall and spring semesters of the academic year preceding the semester abroad and the approval of their home department, if they have one.
Students who are not in good disciplinary standing may be deemed ineligible to study abroad even if they meet the academic requirements. The Committee on Examinations and Standing grants final approval to study abroad.
Almost everyone can fit a semester or more of study abroad into their four-year plan. In fact, the demographic breakdown of study abroad participants closely mirrors that of the entire Princeton population. If you don't think you can fit study abroad in with your concentration, check out Information by Department to see where students with your concentration have studied.
The key to making it work? Plan ahead! Consult an adviser to work out an academic plan that includes study abroad.
