Dean's Fund for Study Abroad
Summer Study Abroad Funding Application
The Dean's Fund for Study Abroad offers competitive awards to students on financial aid who enroll in structured academic study abroad and language programs lasting at least four weeks. Please note that the Dean's Fund does not make awards in support of internships.
The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on March 15, 2013. Review of applications begins after the application deadline. Applicants will be informed of the decision regarding their application by May 1. Note that preference is given to students who have not been funded before (which does not mean that you should not apply more than once).
Please read the application guidelines before submitting your application.
Please note: Students who are seeking funding for language study in East Asia should not apply to the Dean's Fund for Study Abroad. The Dean's Fund/OIP provides funds directly to the East Asian Studies Program for language study. Students should apply to the East Asian Studies Program for the relevant language.

Completing a Dean's Fund Application involves the following steps:
- Complete the Online Application. Note: As of January 2013, all applications for funding in support of undergraduate activities including summer study abroad, internships (not counting paid employment), senior thesis research, and junior independent work or special projects (including individual student travel to conferences) will go through the Student Activities Funding Engine (SAFE). Click here to submit an application through SAFE.
- As part of the online application, you must designate one recommender who knows your academic qualifications well and upload the following documents:
- PDF of the program information if you are applying to a non-Princeton program, including course descriptions and the published, itemized cost of the program. N.B. You must submit official program materials (print or electronic) that break out the cost of tuition from the overall program fee. We cannot issue a check without this documentation. If the cost of tuition is not itemized, please follow-up with the program to find out what the cost is.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
