Language of instruction: The majority of courses offered at Smolny are in Russian; approximately 5-8 courses are also offered in English.

Other information: evaluation on file. The Independent University of Moskow is a small, elite college founded in 1991 by a group of well-known Russian mathematicians who now comprise the Academic Council of the University. Pierre Deligne and Robert McPherson of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton also played crucial roles in founding the university.
