WDS partners with ACC to develop mobile tool for students to take action

Since its formation in 2007, the Princeton University Alcohol Coalition Committee (ACC) has been studying the complex and serious issue of high-risk drinking—a problem not unique to this campus. In 2011, the ACC partnered with Web Development Services (WDS) to create a tool aimed at bystanders. The goal was to inform bystanders as they seek help for a friend, teammate, or anyone else. The Bystander Mobile site (nicknamed Standby) was the result of the partnership.

The site can be viewed on a variety of devices such as smartphones and tablets. The layout and information were optimized for small screens because of the need to have on-the-spot access to information but it can be viewed on a large screen as well.  The site was designed and built by Michael Muzzie and Joanne Tunney of WDS in conjunction with Amy Campbell, Michael Olin, and Santiago Martinez Legaspi of the ACC.
