OIT working to fix "Search Topics & People" function and LDAP directory slowness
OIT is working to correct problems with the University's main web page "Search Topics & People" search function (www.princeton.edu/search).
The slowness is caused by problems with backend servers that feed the search results. These problems are also slowing a number of other services (including SMTP, IMAP e-mail, and IMAP WebMail), and anything that requires authentication using your LDAP password.
