PULSe technology webinars this fall

Join LIVE PULSe (PU Learning Series) webinars this fall and learn more about Adobe PDF, course reading lists, Sharepoint and Sharepoint 2010, and more. All you need to participate is your Princeton netID and an iLinc account (you can request one from the OIT Help Desk at 8-HELP, if you don't already have one).  

The webinars take place on Tuesday afternoons from noon to 1:00 pm. throughout the fall semester. To join any of the sessions, log into princeton.ilinc.com and go to the LIVE PULSe Webinars classroom. 

These are live, interactive sessions; bring your questions and please do participate!

10/16 Creating Dashing Dashboards in Cognos 10 Cognos 10 will go live at the University on Saturday, October 27th. This new tool provides the ability to create custom dashboards, using Cognos “Business Insight”, “Business Insight Advanced” and “Portal Pages”. Using these three tools, we’ll create operational and informative dashboards, for various data consumers. Liz Zodeiko
10/30 New Enhanced Eii's This session will review the new “Enhanced” Eii (Electronic Interdepartmental Invoice) process. The new functionality offered by Enhanced EII will make the cost transfer process a more efficient providing approval workflow, the ability to charge within the department and between departments. It also allows for better regulatory compliance and online archiving of related documentation all of which will be reviewed during this one hour webinar. Janice Guarnieri
11/6 Working with Libraries in SharePoint 2010 Come and see some new ways to work with document and asset libraries in SP 2010. We’ll look at new tools for managing and organizing your libraries as well as new ways to share and edit their contents. Jeanne Mrak
11/13 Entering Course Reading Lists Into Blackboard This session will cover creating reading lists using the Blackboard submission tool and submitting the reading lists to Labyrinth. Alla Ryklin
11/20 Adobe PDF - Tips & Techniques Learn how to create PDF files without needing other applications (e.g. Word or Powerpoint), how to "recognize" text (using OCR - Optical Character Recognition) in a variety of languages. Also learn how to create watermarks, headers and footers and use different page numbering options. Paula Brett
11/27 SAFE - the Student Activities Funding Engine SAFE, the Student Activities Funding Engine, is a new tool which will enable our students to seek funding for their non-classroom activities such as internships, study abroad, independent work and senior thesis research. During this session we will provide an overview and demonstrate the department administrator and student functionality of the system. Diana Davies
