Technology Leadership

Build and leverage institutional capacity through technology leadership

In an increasingly complex world, when all Princeton employees are being asked to do more with the resources they have, technology can help us more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of those we serve. Rapid technology advancements and close partnerships with OIT have resulted in many campus departments asking OIT to take a greater role in making Princeton’s leaders aware of “what’s possible” with emerging technologies to ensure that Princeton appropriately takes advantage of new opportunities.

This goal will consider:

  • What updates are needed to Princeton’s IT Governance model to ensure effective and integrated IT planning at all levels of the university
  • What consultative services could be offered to departments to help them utilize technology to achieve their business goals (e.g. “technology readiness assessments,” “Ivy+ Peer Assessments,” business process improvements, technology roadshows)
  • What OIT can do to help departments identify and fulfill IT literacy requirements of non-IT staff
  • How OIT can best “broker” new services and emerging technologies that may be available through “cloud providers”
