Recording of Classroom Sessions

The Broadcast Center can record classroom sessions or entire courses. Such recordings can then be posted within the course web site on BlackBoard. Applicants need to contact Associate Dean of the College, Peter Quimby at pquimby@Princeton.EDU for approval.

Rental of Digital Cameras

The Media Services makes available two digital still cameras for academic use. Faculty, staff, or students can sign out a digital camera overnight or over a weekend.

Repair of Computers and IT Equipment

The OIT Solutions Center (Tech Clinic) encourages walk-in consultation at the Frist Campus Center. Staff are also dispatched to dorm rooms and offices upon special request .

Request for Support of New Licensed Software

Departments or members of the University community can request the purchase of new, licensed software. OIT will endeavor to locate enough partners to make such purchases more affordable.

Residential Computer Consultants - Computer Support in Dorms

The Residential Computing Consultant (RCC) program is part of OIT's ongoing commitment to serving students' computing and telecommunications needs. OIT has hired and trained students in each residential college to help students with questions and problems related to computing and telecommunications at Princeton. Upperclass and graduate RCCs are available to help students who live in upperclass and graduate housing, respectively.

Resource/Schedule 25 (University Events, Meetings and Classroom Scheduling)

PSIG offers full cycle implementation and maintenance services for University events, meetings, classroom and final exam scheduling system.

These services include project management, business analysis, technology/packaged software selection support, customer and user group education/facilitation, integrations with other enterprise applications and development of limited custom solutions to best extend the application of the packaged software to meet the business needs.

PSIG also serves as second level application support to University Scheduling and Registrar’s Office, working closely with customer representatives to resolve any technical issues that may arise, engaging third party expertise as necessary.

Restoring Lost IMAP E-mail Messages

OIT allows for the restoration of e-mail folders and messages deleted from the IMAP mail stores within 30 days.  The Exchange server retains items deleted from the Deleted Items folder for 30 days. The items can be restored using the Recover Deleted Items feature in Outlook.
