Agreement Types - Non-Funded
There are various types of non-funded agreements that ORPA may provide assistance to the Principal Investigator (PI) or Department in reviewing, negotiating, and executing on behalf of the University. Any non-funded agreement for an international collaboration must be reviewed and approved in accordance with the University’s international partnerships guidelines.
Information Exchange Agreements
The University and an external organization may, at times, share information with one another that each party deems confidential. In such instances, these information exchanges may be formalized in an agreement between both parties in order to prevent inadvertent disclosure to a third party. The following list includes these types of agreement:
- Proprietary Information Agreements (PIAs)
- Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Data Use Agreements(DUAs) that are from non-commercial entities. Commercially sponsored DUAs are managed through the Purchasing Department.
Visiting Researcher Agreements
Visiting Researcher Agreements establish the arrangements for the visitor’s activities, time period, and obligations at the University. The PI and Department must coordinate the visiting researcher appointment with the appropriate office(s), which may include the Office of the Dean of the Faculty or other International Princeton Resources.
Material Transfer Agreements
Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) govern how physical materials and equipment will be exchanged, modified, consumed, or used in research collaborations. These agreements are negotiated and executed by the Office of Technology Licensing.
