Animal Research Protections
The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is charged with the task of ensuring ethical responsibility of compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and federal regulations and has agreed to provide appropriate oversight for the welfare of animals used in all research and educational activities.
It is the responsibility of the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance to provide support to the IACUC, to exercise administrative oversight for the IACUC review and certification process, and to ensure that all research complies with the University's assurances for protecting the welfare of animal subjects.
