Over the next few months, NIH will be issuing new parent announcements with new language and new application packages. Each updated FOA will include a link to the archived version of the current FOA.
From now until early February, applicants must carefully select which version of the FOA and application package they should be using.
· Applications due before 1/25/10 must use the current application packages and instructions.
· Applications due on or after 1/25/10 must use the new application packages and instructions.
· Applicants eligible for continuous submission have until 2/7/10 to submit R01, R21 and R34 AIDS applications that would otherwise have been due on 1/7/10, using the current application.
The current application package may be provided in the archived version of the newly revised FOA.
Some FOA’s will be terminated instead of updated. Therefore, before submitting an application the applicant should be sure to verify that the FOA is still active.
Additional information on changes to the application structure and length, as well as details on the alignment of the application with review criteria for Training (T), Career Development (K), and Research Education (R25) applications may be found at the Enhancing Peer Review Web site:
http://enhancing-peer-review.nih.gov/index.html.
Please distribute as appropriate. If you have any questions, please contact your ORPA representative.
