Revisions/Supplements and Resubmissions
Revisions/Supplements
A sponsor may permit the submission of an add-on proposal for supplemental or additional funding for an existing award. There are many ways with which this can be accomplished. Some sponsors request a supplemental proposal be submitted electronically. Others will grant the supplemental funding based upon agreements made between the technical partners involved in the project. In all cases, this type of information must be entered into Coeus as a proposal utilizing the type “Revision” and routed for approval, just as if it was a new proposal. Once the award funding arrives, the additional funding will be included with the existing project funding.
Resubmissions
Resubmissions are proposals that have been modified in some way. There are two main types of resubmissions:
- A proposal that was denied funding and is being re-submitted with the suggested reviewer changes, such as the National Institutes of Health resubmission type
- A revision of a previously submitted proposal that was not funded or a proposal that has been selected for funding but requires a modified budget and/or period of performance than what was originally proposed
In these and any other instances that a resubmission is required, it should be entered into Coeus as a “Resubmission” type and routed for approval.
