NIH eSNAP Reporting
NIH Electronic Streamlined Non-Competing Award Process (eSNAP) enables grantees to submit an electronic version of the SNAP Type 5 (non-competing) progress report through the eRA Commons. The eSNAP report should be submitted electronically up to 45 days before the next budget period’s start date.
Grantees should refer to Section II of each NIH award document to determine whether eSNAP provisions apply to a particular award. In general, this streamlined process applies to most R Series grant activity awards. NIH awards that do not have the authority to automatically carry over unobligated balances each year (e.g., centers, cooperative agreements, institutional training, Kirschstein-NRSA grants) are not allowed to use eSNAP.
Investigators may access eSNAP instructions in NIH's eSNAP User’s Guide.
For a more comprehensive guide on the NIH non-competing award process, refer to the complete NIH Non-Competing Continuation Progress Report Guide.
