Faculty Engagement

Welcome to the Pace Center’s online faculty gateway, where you’ll find resources and encouragement to include civic engagement as an element in your teaching, research, and mentoring of students.
What is civic engagement? Simply put, it means taking action to identify and address issues of public concern. At Princeton, civic engagement builds on resources and expertise both here and in the broader community to promote the common good in a manner that is consistent with the campus mission of research, learning, and service.
Examples include focusing research on issues of public concern, touching on related subjects when possible in courses, mentoring a student in an internship or fellowship, and advising students who are doing independent work that concentrates on public issues.
