An opportunity to learn about the Program in Global Health and Health Policy (GHP), an interdepartmental program in which undergraduates can study the determinants, consequences, and patterns of disease across societies; the role of medical technologies and interventions in health improvements; and the economic, political, and social factors that shape domestic and global public health. An opportunity to learn about opportunities for civic engagement at Princeton. Stuart Rabner '82, Chief Justice of the N.J. Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker. Current students Ashley Shoettle '10, Danny Growald '11, Veda Sunasse '10, and Jane Yang '11, who exemplify Princeton's commitment to civic engagement, will discuss their experiences. The program will be followed by an ice cream social and civic engagement activities fair where students can learn more about service and other civic engagement opportunities on campus. Hosted by the PCCV.

COMMUNITY ACTION BLOOD DRIVE
Thursday, Sept. 10, 10 AM–3 PM
Bloodmobile in Firestone Plaza
Blood drive open to everyone; walk-ins welcome. Donors should be sure to eat within four hours of donating blood and bring a photo ID. To sign up online: pace.princeton.edu/blood.

PUBLIC INTEREST GRAD SCHOOL FAIR
Thursday, Sept. 10, 5–8 PM
Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th St., New York
Schools with graduate programs in fields such as nonprofit management, education, social work, global health, international affairs, law, public policy, and urban planning, will be represented at this fair sponsored by Idealist.org. For information and to register (the fair is free, but the organization would like to know how many attendees to expect): www.idealist.org/gradfairs.

MOZILLA SERVICE WEEK
Monday, Sept. 14–Monday, Sept. 21
Idealist.org and Mozilla, the organization behind the Firefox browser, are sponsoring this program to match thousands of "techie" volunteers around the world with nonprofits in need of help with IT, web design, programming, blogging, and more. Volunteers who are comfortable with technology and would like to help out and organizations that could use their help can find each other at: mozillaservice.org.

BARRY GILLMAN HUMANITARIAN SCHOLARSHIP
Deadline: Tuesday, Sept. 15
The Barry Gillman Humanitarian Scholarship honors the compassion and spirit of volunteerism embodied by the late Barry Gillman, a corporate attorney for PNC Bank, by encouraging undergraduate students to continue in their humanitarian work while attending college. Juniors and seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or better and demonstrate the and qualities of citizenship and humanitarian service are eligible to apply. Two awards of $5,000 each will be made for the 2009-2010 academic year. For information: 908-277-3424 or scholarship@njcolleges.org.

VOLUNTEER TUTORS FOR PRISONER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Petey Greene Prisoner Assistance Program is looking for Princeton undergraduate and graduate students to tutor and, in some cases, to teach inmates. Volunteers will also learn more about life in a prison. Participants will be expected to make a commitment of three hours on one day per week. Orientation, training, and transportation to and from the New Jersey correctional facility will be provided. Interested volunteers should send an email to jfarrin@nyct.net stating their interest in being part of this important program. A meeting to learn more about the program, and to sign up if interested, will be held the week of Sept. 21. Details will be sent to all who email the Pace Center as indicated above. VOLUNTEER WEBMASTER FOR PRISONER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Petey Greene Prisoner Assistance Program needs a volunteer webmaster to set up a simple informational site describing the mission of the organization and providing informational and training materials as well as schedules. Interested students should send a resume with web-design experience and a brief cover letter to jfarrin@nyct.net. For more information about the program: pace.princeton.edu/prisoneducation.

VOLUNTEER INTERNS FOR AARP-NJ OFFICE IN PRINCETON
The AARP-NJ (aarp.org) is looking for graduate students to serve as volunteer interns at its office in Forrestal Village. Available positions include Communication Intern, Advocacy Intern, and Community Outreach Intern. The first two opportunities require a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. To apply: Email a resume and cover letter to Victoria Hasser, vhasser@aarp.org, indicating how many hours you would be available.
