These agencies provide information about opportunities to serve as a volunteer in the community:

Office of Community and Regional Affairs

The Office of Community and Regional Affairs (CRA) serves to link the "gown" or University with the "town" or the non-University communities that surround the University. The Office of CRA sponsors numerous community outreach initiatives and programs that respond to the general public.

VolunteerConnect

VolunteerConnect maintains a free, online service that provides current information about volunteer work available in Central New Jersey.

SOS (Service Opportunities for Students)

SOS (Service Opportunities for Students) is a student-run interactive web site dedicated to helping teens in the Princeton area select community service opportunities that meet school requirements and provide enriching experiences. The site also includes an educational portion that provides prospective volunteers with tips on how to prepare for and present themselves on the "job."

Do Something

Do Something is a a not-for-profit organization that works to inspire, support, and celebrate young social entrepreneurs and community activists.

USA Freedom Corps

The USA Freedom Corps has resources for individuals and organizations. Its website includes an interactive search function to help indivduals find specific volunteer opportunities to suit their skills and interests.

Governor's Office of Volunteerism

The New Jersey Governor's Office of Volunteerism works to promote volunteerism through the state. Each month its website highlights a different area where help is needed.

1-800-Volunteer.org

1-800-Volunteer.org is a national website portal providing volunteers with a direct connection to local volunteer opportunities "that match interests, skills, and the common desire to make a difference."

The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network

The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network encourages people to volunteer and has many resources for effective volunteering and for managing volunteers. Registration (which is free) is required to access some of these resources.
